Brudejournal: Camilla C.

I knew pretty early on that I wanted some turquoise in my accessories, as it is my favorite color, and that I wanted to wear red lipstick. Therefore, my accessories had to be able to go with red, and I wanted to somehow incorporate some turquoise.

I knew also that I wanted a dress that wasn't high-necked or with long sleeves, since I also knew quite early on that I wanted to use my grandmother's necklace for the wedding as something "old". Apart from the purchases and considerations, I chose to let the remaining choices about accessories depend on which dress I found.

What did your bridal look consist of?

On my wedding day, I had a hairband with metal flowers in turquoise, white and blue colors with gold-colored metal as a link. I paired it with a real gold necklace that came from my grandmother, as well as some pearl earrings that I got from my mother-in-law.

In relation to shoes, I chose to make an investment and buy a pair of nude Louboutin sandals with gold details and the classic red sole.

A month before the wedding, I was unlucky enough to sprain one of my ankles, so I actually feared that I wouldn't be able to use my new shoes! But luckily I got an early appointment with a physiotherapist and got exercises, so my ankle was almost completely healed by the time of the wedding. I could therefore settle for using sneakers as a change of shoes when we had to walk from the wedding venue to the party location and when my feet had naturally become tired at the end of the evening.

When did you buy your accessory?

I found the hair ornament early, actually one of the first. It was because I stumbled upon it early on, and since it's a bit limited what you can find in turquoise hair accessories without it being, for my taste, too violent, I already bought it close to a year before the wedding, when I knew I HAD to be it hair ornaments.

However, I only found my shoes after I had bought my dress. I hadn't planned to buy expensive shoes, but because it was possible to find a dress at a favorable price at TP Kjoler, without having to compromise on the look (I ended up buying the dress I fell in love with on the webshop before my trial), I allowed myself to make an investment and buy expensive shoes, as it would also be possible to use them for other occasions. I bought my shoes about six months before the wedding.

Do you use any of the accessories after your wedding?

I have worn my Louboutin shoes once since my September wedding. Since then, there hasn't been any good weather to take them out again, but I'm looking forward to using them for future parties and summer occasions when the weather improves. They were clearly the biggest investment for my look, so they will definitely be used again!
